Application and Use
To clean separator discs from both lube and fuel oil systems, it is recommended that the disc stack be removed from the separator and immersed in a dilute solution of AMEROID DC disc cleaner. Depending upon the severity and quantity of deposits, a solution containing one part AMEROID DC disc cleaner to four to eight parts water should be used. Any suitable metal container (except galvanized) or dip tank can be used to clean parts. The solution can be used at ambient temperature, but faster cleaning will take place at an elevated temperature of 50°- 60° C (122°-144° F). In addition, slight agitation also will shorten the cleaning time and improve results. Cleaning time will range from one to three hours, depending upon the severity of the deposits. AMEROID DC disc cleaner is designed specifically for cleaning metal parts (stainless steel, ferrous).
Do not immerse bronze, brass, galvanized or other nonferrous parts in AMEROID DC disc cleaner solution since corrosion of these materials will likely occur.
